God Bless!

Today we celebrate!

Frightened as we may be in strange, and unprecedented days…

Concerned as we may be for the health of friends…

…of family…
…of coworkers…
…and our own…

Worried as we may be to return to work…

…to retain our work…
…to pay our bills…

Today is a day of celebration, the day that we remember our God is greater than our fears…

…our sickness…
…our grief…
…our need…
…our Death…

Today we celebrate God’s victory over Death itself, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the promise that we will all one day rise with him.

And today, we are asked again:

How will we celebrate this victory?
How will we remember this gift?

In our fear, and in our uncertainty, how will we follow the God brave enough to die for us?

How will we be brave?

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. … What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?… It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

~Romans 8:1, 31, 34-35, 37

And Let Us Pray…

Lord God, Creator, Redeemer,

We lift before you the concerns that we share with our world…

… with our nation …

… with our communities …

… our families …

… our friends …

… our neighbors …

… and ourselves …

Watch over us, and guide us in these times of uncertainty and fear, into your promise and your future.

Forgive us for all the wrong that we have done,

Willingly and unwillingly,

Knowingly or unknowingly.

Give us your grace, to resist tomorrow whatever temptation we have given into today,

To persevere in challenges we have yet to face,

To live beyond fear.

In the name of the King of Peace, Jesus Christ, who conquers Fear and Death forever, Amen.

Now, I’m pleased to introduce my father, Pastor Norman Bude, and his message for this Easter Sunday.

Let us be the people who are brave!

No matter what twists and turns have blown us off course this Easter season, let us seize the opportunities God puts in front of us, move forward in hope, as the dry bones brought back to life…

Now be brave, and celebrate!

    • I’m glad the service meant something to you! If we can’t be together in body, at least technology allows us to be together in spirit.
