Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—

~Psalm 107:2

We are the redeemed, the loved, who come to worship God today.

Who have cried to the Lord in our distress.

Who have been answered.

This is our story…

The message of this next song may seem overly simplistic.

“You speak” the song claims, “and suddenly I’m not afraid…”

We’ve all experienced those times when this is simply untrue.

But this song is the expression of a hope, a faith, that whatever we fear, God is greater in the end.

The song is also a promise. God has already made this promise to all of us, to let nothing – no unrighteousness, no sin or regret, no fear – come between us. God has promised us a love that transcends all things. God upholds that promise every day.

Today, with the artists behind this song, let us make the promise back to God.

Certain spaces in the prayer are left open for you to add whatever is on your heart to add.

And Let Us Pray…

Lord God, Creator, Redeemer,

We lift before you the concerns that we share with our world…

… with our nation …

… with our communities …

… our families …

… our friends …

… our neighbors …

… and ourselves …

Watch over us, and guide us in these times of uncertainty and fear, into your promise and your future.

Forgive us for all the wrong that we have done,

Willingly and unwillingly,

Knowingly or unknowingly.

Give us your grace, to resist tomorrow whatever temptation we have given into today,

To persevere in challenges we have yet to face,

To live beyond fear.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Now, I’m pleased to introduce my father, Pastor Norman Bude, and his message for this Sunday.
