God Bless!

When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.

You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

~Psalm 8

So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

~Romans 7:24-25

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

~Romans 12:2

Certain spaces in the prayer are left open for you to add whatever is on your heart to add.

And Let Us Pray…

Lord God, Creator, Redeemer,

We lift before you the concerns that we share with our world…

… with our nation …

… with our communities …

… our families …

… our friends …

… our neighbors …

… and ourselves …

Watch over us, and guide us in these times of uncertainty and fear, into your promise and your future.

Forgive us for all the wrong that we have done,

Willingly and unwillingly,

Knowingly or unknowingly.

Give us your grace, to resist tomorrow whatever temptation we have given into today,

To persevere in challenges we have yet to face,

To live beyond fear.

In the name of Jesus Christ, who transforms us, Amen.

Now, I’m pleased to introduce my father, Pastor Norman Bude, and his message for this Sunday.

The bible speaks of two ways

In the Old Testament, Moses calls them “Life and Death, blessing and curse.” Deuteronomy 30:19

In the Gospels, Jesus speaks of narrow and wide gates. Matthew 7:13-14

In his letters, Paul calls them the way of the Spirit, and the way of the flesh.

Whatever name they go by, there are two ways – two natures.

The Divine Nature.

and the human nature.

No better, no truer benediction has ever been written than the one attributed to Moses in Deuteronomy 30:19.

This day… I set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose LIFE

To choose life is to choose God. To choose God is to have faith and be transformed.

So go out this week, and choose LIFE.

  1. Thanks to Shanna for the added scriptures on how the Bible speaks of two ways. Helped me to see more clearly the message God gave me to preach this Sunday.
